Beverly Hills 90210, that hit TV series that brought names like Tori Spelling, Shannon Doherty and Jason Priestley is now being revived but with new stars. Everyone knows the popular long-time running television series and with this new revival that is offering new faces and new names, you have to wonder if they can achieve the same success that the original stars had made.

This time around, the show is made up of virtually unknown but potential new teen idols. The list includes Jessica Stroup, Shenae Grimes, Jennie Garth and Kellan Lutz among others. Basing it on the teasers, it seems that the new 90210 may have lots of potential. For the record, it has been said that original star Shannon Doherty will be making an appearance for 1 episode of the TV show. On whether that would be the first and last is anybody’s guess.

But just like most shows, sequels have a tougher task to accomplish as far as upholding the tradition of success for hot primetime TV shows.

While Dark Knight star Christian Bale is bound to make waves after his movie Dark Knight grossed millions in the box office, it seems that his personal issues have become obstacles (or are they?) in placing himself among the elite stars in the world today.

Bale was reportedly charged with assaulting his mother and sister at a London hotel and this has injected a lot of color to the upcoming star’s celebrity status.

For his part, Bale had humbly asked to spare the details of his personal life in relation with his rise to fame. But considering the attention he is getting these days that is easier said than done. Perhaps that is the price to pay for becoming an instant hit.

“It’s a deeply personal matter,” Bale told a press conference at a luxury hotel in this northern Spanish city. “I would ask you to respect my privacy in the matter.”

Each time I hear of someone popular dying in the showbiz industry it reminds me of my age. While I am not a great fan of the Golden Girls, a hit comedy series back in the ‘80s, I do remember seeing them through plugs and teasers. And admittedly, Estelle Getty (Sophia Petrillo) is one of the girls I always remember due to her wisecracks and serious yet hilarious character. And mind you, I remember her only from teasers and not by watching.

The last time I remember her coming out of the big screen was opposite Sylvester Stallone (Stop, or My Mom Will Shoot!). But what puzzles me is the age factor. During those times, it seems she was tailor-made for the roles since the image she projected was like no other.

Getty died Tuesday at the age of 84 from advanced dementia. While many today do not remember this star, if they caught a glimpse of what Getty had accomplished, then perhaps they would wish they had seen her classic movies and shows that were more frugal than flashy.

Whether it is titled Batman or Dark Knight, the common DC comics follower will always know it is the same old flick of that caped crusader. For the past years, it seems that there is always something about Batman that makes producers direct movies with different characters. But isn’t Batman becoming to overused and redundant?

We have seen Batman portrayed by big names such as Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer, George Clooney and just recently, Christian Bale. From all the movies, there seems to be a new twists and adversaries that seem to be repetitive.

And mind you, they are not sequels. They are new production numbers that seem to soon wear out their welcome. The only bright site of it all is that people are still watching them. “The Dark Knight” has even reportedly earned a whopping $155.34 million on its first weekend, surpassing Spiderman 3.

But while fans are watching them, would it be possible to see other super heroes on the wide screen? Green Lantern? Wonder Woman? Or better yet, the Justice League? Now that would be a hit!

A few days ago, it was mentioned that the lead actor in the successful crime-drama TV series Crime Scene Investigation was leaving the show as well. Gil Grissom played by William Petersen is the odd CSI that uses his geeky approach towards analyzing and solving crimes for the team.

But Petersen is said to be staying put and will be making occasional appearances on the show. He joins the original cast of Jorja Fox (Sara Sidle) and Gary Duordan (Warrick Brown) who have left the successful crime scene TV series. The only key characters that we can look forward too are Catherine Willows (Marg Helgenberger) and Nick Stokes (George Eads). Will CSI ever be the same again?

While CBS would be paying dearly for the loss of its original cast, it is ready to move on. The hunt is on for a new CSI scientist and apparently they will land one.

For folks who have forgotten, Olivia Newton-John gained stardom in the late 70’s when she starred opposite John Travolta for the hit movie “Grease”. Since then she has been away from the limelight but 30 years later she crops up again, announcing her second marriage.

Today, Newton-John is 59 and has gotten married again to John Easterling. Easterling is the founder and CEO of Amazon Herb Co., which sells botanical supplements from the rainforest. Newton-John was formerly married to Matt Lattanzi whom she married in 1984 and divorced in 1995.

It was really a quiet ceremony for the popular actress and singer who made hit singles such as “I Honestly Love You” and “Physical”. They were wed only last June 21 on Jupiter Island in Florida.

“Family and friends were told about the nuptials at a barbecue on July 4, 2008, in a private celebration at the singer’s home in Malibu, California,” the statement said.

The announcement said it was the second marriage for both.

If there is one thing many celebrities should avoid these days, it is making remarks pointed at the direction of groups and organizations that will get you into trouble. We all know the controversial remarks that Sharon Stone had made regarding the China earthquake and now we have another one in the person of Grey’s Anatomy star Katherine Heigl.

No thanks to the remarks she shared at the Emmy’s regarding her performance last season, she is now teetering on the possibility of being cut of the prime ABC show. Apparently, Heigl showed obvious disappointment towards what exposure she got last season and divulging that has gotten the ire of creator Shonda Rhimes who is seriously considering cutting of her character, Dr. Isobel Stevens from the show.

Lest you forget, Heigl took herself out of the running for this year’s Emmy race because she felt the writers failed to give her enough good material to work with last season.

“It’s not good there,” a source tells me of the Grey’s Anatomy set. “Shonda is pissed. They’re thinking of killing her off. They want Izzie dead.”

While a dead Izzie may never happen, it would be an ironic twist, because industry insiders have long speculated that Heigl wants to ditch the show.

After giving birth to her son Max, Christina Aguilera has followed a different route; Parenthood. Aguilera has long been a familiar icon in the showbiz industry and surely her interview with Glamour Magazine is quite a revelation especially to her detractors and fans.

Just like any parent, a child is a form of inspiration that comes with a lot of responsibility. Kids were not given to be taken care of nannies. They still need the actual tender loving care of a parent and apparently this was what Christina Aguilera realized when she had Max.

A change in outlook and life is what Aguilera has revealed. Her life is no longer the happy go lucky type and with the right sense of direction, Aguilera seems to be on the right track. And someday, she will realize her efforts, when Max acknowledges that her mom is not only a superstar but a super mom!

She rarely leaves the house. Her nails are blissfully unmanicured. She calls dates with her husband “Mommy and Daddy nights-out.” Could the sexiest diva in the business have actually become a good girl? You decide.

Amy Whinehouse had a memorable first in the Glastonbury Festival but was somewhat tarnished a bit when she had reportedly punched a fan during the said event. Something certainly transpired and it was not pretty. Based on reports from CNN, someone from the unruly crowd went a bit far. Some reported that it was more on touching her hair while others claim it was about touching her breasts. Of the two, it is quite obvious that any person would get outraged if the latter were indeed true.

It marked the first time that Whinehouse had appeared in the celebrate UK event after being hospitalized. She collapsed at her London home and her father had informed media that Whinehouse had damaged her lungs and developed early-stage emphysema due to smoking crack and cocaine.

Put one and one together and you get abused in front of 80,000 people, can you blame her for flaring up and heating at fans?

For someone who considers herself a role model, being seen topless in Vanity is certainly set to raise some eyebrows and question her personality and claims as a role model for the ages. Miley Cyrus, the star of Hannah Montana, participated for the sake of art but now she may have given it further thought.

So instead of adding towards the area of art, it seems she is know fighting a personal battle to try and reclaim the trust and view of people who looked up to her as a good role model. At 15, she has certainly made the news and gained media attention in the worst way, making her a sitting duck and surely tarnishing her clean image to date.

As it stands, she is now busy trying to make amends and apologizing for everything. But the thing is, if you did not really have any offensive nature in mind, then why should you apologize at all? Contradicting don’t you think?
