Dress for the Season

Floral prints are fun and look great, as long as it is spring. But no woman should ever be seen wearing a floral print during the winter. So follow these basic guidelines for the seasons.

Spring is a time to have fun. Sundresses with long cardigans are great for the spring. Dresses with boots are also a must. Bright light colours are appropriate for the spring and pastels are also a great spring look. Avoid black because this is the season to be cheery and light hearted, not gloomy. Bermuda shorts can be pulled out in the spring if the weather permits. Pair any of these outfits with a cute clutch and fun jewellery.

During the summer, wear bright colours. This is a great time to wear tank tops and if you want to show some skin, this is the best time to do it. Sundresses and sandals are fun for the summer. Khaki shorts and a few pair of unique, cute sandals is a staple for many summertime outfits. Colours and clothing should be kept light not only for appearance but because it is also too hot in most places and nobody wants to stand next to the sweaty girl.

In the fall, wear maroons, browns, oranges, and other beiges. This is cardigan weather, ladies. Embrace it. Black can be worn but at the risk of seeming too gloomy. If wearing black in the fall, make sure to wear a scarf or jewellery that accents using one of the beige colours. Boots are also a vital fashion accessory in the fall. Summer tank tops can be covered with a cardigan and paired with boots to make a quick and efficient outfit.

Winter is time to break out the sweaters and jackets. Having a few sweaters and a cute jacket can make or break anyone’s season. Dark colours are great for the winter as long as they are not made to look too gloomy. Do not appear to be on the way to a funeral but black is great for the winter. Just make sure to accessorize properly with a fun scarf or gloves. Do not forget New Year’s Eve, ladies. Fashion should be kept sparkly and silver. A cute silver dress paired with fun heels makes any New Year’s Eve outfit a fresh beginning.

No matter what the season, it is important to maintain a pleasing appearance. The more professional and presentable a woman appears, the more likely she is to be taken seriously in any situation. These basic tips can help anyone keep their fashion in line with the season. Just remember that certain colours match certain seasons and that all fashion should be fun and exciting. Everyone should walk out of a house feeling good about the way they look and that is a New Year’s Resolution that is not difficult to keep.

How to Pretend You’re a Celebrity at Hollywood Hotel 0

Visiting Los Angeles for the first time and just dying to look like a celebrity when you head over to Hollywood?  If so, you certainly aren’t the first person with such dramatic aspirations.  Still, convincing a general populace so accustomed to celebrity culture that you’re among the A-List is no easy task.  In order to come off as a Hollywood debutante, you need to act the part, and play it well.  Start by reserving a room at a high-end luxury hotel in Hollywood, Beverly Hills, or another gleaming part of the downtown LA area, as you can’t just plaster your hand prints in front of Grauman’s Chinese Theatre just yet.

The reason that the high-end hotel room is so necessary is because you need to amplify your faux celebrity in a controlled manner.  Strutting down Sunset Boulevard in oversized Gucci sunglasses in stilettos and a fabulous dress will only make you part of the crowd, not head and heels above it.  You need to understate your approach while overstating yourself in the few appearances you make.  Sending someone to the front desk to confirm your hotel reservation and having someone else carry your bags to your room is a good start.  To build on that, stand in the hotel lobby with part of your face covered, and dressed in understated clothes.  After all, a real celebrity wouldn’t want everyone to know what hotel she was checking into, so she wouldn’t be wearing a gown and glowing makeup reminiscent of a red carpet debut.

When you do use hotel facilities, try wearing a luxurious bathrobe and a pair of comfy, casual slippers.  This will help to exude your confidence and establish your reputation as someone who feels as comfortable at a five-star resort as she does at home.  The bathrobe should be plush and modern, so stick to whites or pastel colors and avoid any robes that look like they fell off the rack at Walmart and into your shopping cart.

When all else fails, have a friend approach you in fake freak-out mode while in front of a crowd, perhaps in the hotel lobby or by the pool.  Her unrequited need to meet you will stoke the interest of others, and in no-time you’ll be a celebrity just by the unique ‘coincidence’ of having been recognized in your five-star seclusion.

What Stars are Ready to Become Parents? 0

Here’s just a few of the celebrities who are currently being cast for a new role — that of mother to a new-born child.

One celebrity expecting her second child is Rebecca Gayheart. Gayheart, who once starred on Beverly Hills, 90210, already has a daughter, Billie Beatrice, born in 2010. If for some reason she can’t get to hospital when the time comes, her husband Eric Dane might be able to assist. Dane should have picked up a few things on the set of Grey’s Anatomy, where his character just fathered a child, but hopefully there won’t be a need to page Dr. Sloan.

Latest celebrity news: Miranda ‘banned’ from Dr Who 0

Dr Who has been a staple of the tabloid celebrity news columns since returning to TV screens in 2005 – mainly due to the obvious star quality of cast members Billie Piper, David Tennant, Matt Smith and Karen Gillan. The latest tale doing the rounds is that comic Miranda Hart was being lined up for a stint as a companion of the Time Lord – only for BBC1 executives to scupper the plans.

According to The Sun, show chief Steven Moffat was keen on casting the sitcom star in future episodes, but was told that she will instead be focusing on her own hit show Miranda. She’s said to be “gutted” that her chances of travelling through time and space appear to have been dashed.

While the doctor’s companions haven’t exactly fit a strict template in recent years, ranging from old comedy hands like Sharon Tate and Elisabeth Sladen to newcomers such as Gillan and Freema Agyeman, we’re finding it hard to imagine bumbling Miranda pulling off such a serious role. This has got us thinking about other potentially disastrous castings on Dr Who – here’s a few that stand out from our quick straw poll.

1. Steven McFadden as Dr Who
During his time on EastEnders, Steve has proved himself to be a versatile actor – portraying Phil Mitchell as a drunk, druggie mechanic and (occasional) sweetheart, sometimes all within the space of a few episodes. But the role of the Time Lord would just be a step too far – although it’d be amusing to see him beating the Daleks and Cybermen with pure brute force rather than the Doctor’s usual cunning.

2. Katie Price as the Doctor’s companion
The Tardis may have almost infinite rooms, but it’d still struggle for space with all of this celebrity gossip column queen’s clothes, make-up and hair extensions. When the time came to save the universe again, the Doctor wouldn’t stand a chance with the distraction of a drunk, leering Jordan stumbling around the Tardis.

3. C3PO as a Cyberman
Should budget cuts hit the show in the future, producers may be forced to look around for other robots to join the Cybermen. But Star Wars’ camp cyborg certainly wouldn’t strike fear into either of the Doctor’s hearts with his confused rambling.

4. Brian Potter as Davros
OK, so like C3PO, Brian is a character rather than an actual person – played to great comic effect by Peter Kay in Channel 4’s Phoenix Nights. But while wheelchair-bound Brian could certainly look the part of the Dalek leader, his Lancashire brogue just wouldn’t cut it. Pedants would also point out that Kay’s already had a role in the show, playing alien Abzobaloff.

5. Only Fools And Horses’ Trigger as the Cybermen’s creator John Lumic
Actually, this did happen in 2006’s ‘Rise of the Cybermen’ – which was certainly a step up from actor Roger Lloyd-Pack’s role as Peckham’s premier road-sweeper. Which proves there’s at least hope for all of the above – Miranda included.

Little Britain split rumours: How do Walliams and Lucas compare with other double acts? 0

Recent celebrity news reports have suggested that Little Britain pair David Walliams and Matt Lucas could be set to end their comedy partnership after more than a decade of making TV shows together.

Although Lucas has claimed his new solo show The Matt Lucas Awards doesn’t signal the end of their work together, it’s clear they’re looking to try their own things and see if they can find success without one another.

The celebrity news stories about their relationship have got us thinking about how highly the pair rate compared to other double acts – and reminded us of our other favourites. Down the years, double-acts have been the bedrock of comedy – being funny is often a lot easier when you’ve got someone to riff off and play the stooges.

Here are some of our other favourites:

Charlie Sheen Signs $3 Mil Contract 0

Charlie Sheen may have lost his role in his old show, but it seems that opportunities just roll open for the actor.

Sheen just signed a $ 3,000,000, 3 year contract to be the following for EstablishedMen.com:

  • Endorser
  • Point person for Advertising
  • Point Person for Sales
  • Point person for Promotions
  • President

Yep, you read the last one right: he’s going to be the president of the site for rich guys “looking” for needy women. AND he gets 50 percent interest in the company. The requirements are that Sheen can’t work for anyone else (since it’s an exclusive contract) and that he has to move all the way to Toronto.

Good luck to Charlie and the site.

Charlie Sheen “Destroyed” at replacement news 0

With Ashton Kutcher taking over the vacuum created by Charlie sheen in Two and a Half Men, sources from Sheen’s camp said to Popeater’s Rob Shuter that the actor has been “destroyed” by the news:

“He really thought that he would be invited back,” a friend of Charlie’s tells me. “After years of suffering no consequences for his behavior, why would he think anything else? Finally it has sunk in that he doesn’t live by different rules to everyone else. Actions do have a consequences.”

Sheen’s friends are now worried that the actor will go into another deadly spiral after all the plans he made didn’t push through. We’re hoping that Charlie sheen will be able to get up from this situation and become a better actor soon.

Ashton Kutcher replaces Sheen in Two and a Half Men 1

It seems that Ashton Kutcher really is taking over Chalie Sheen’s role after the troubled actor was fired over Two and a Half Men.

Charlie’s stint at the show made him more than a million each show, but TMZ’s sources say that Ashton will be making less than that:

Sources tell TMZ, Charlie’s base pay on the show was $1.25 million an episode. We’ve learned Ashton will get more than half — more than $625,000 — but less than $900,000.

The whole cast, of course without Charlie Sheen, will return to reprise their old roles. Ashton will be playing a new role in the show; no news on how the character will be related to sheen’s old one, if ever, yet.

Leonardo DiCaprio and Bar Rafaeli split 0

I know some ladies would love reading this news: Leonardo DiCaprio is back on the market.

Mega Superstar Leo and beautiful model Bar Rafaeli just announced their split due to their careers. According to a New York Post source:

The source added: “Neither were ready to settle down, and both have busy careers that have been taking them in different directions.”

Let’s hope the directions go sideways and not upwards and downwards. The source continued saying that it was amicable, both remain friends, and that there was no third party involved.

Is there a girl out there that can make Leo take the knot?
